Jake Turnbow


Jake Turnbow is a Drill Designer from Michigan. He is the President of KURODRILL which provides custom design services including drill design, consultation services, winter guard staging, and color guard design. He has been writing drill since 2010 for marching bands and designing winter guard shows since 2011.


Jake Turnbow attended Wayne State University and studied Instrumental Music Education.


Jake has been working with competitive marching bands since 2002 and has served in various instructional and design capacities. Jake is also a wind arranger for marching band and audio editor for winter guard. In addition to his contributions to marching band and winter guard, he has been an Instrumental Specialist (trumpet) for Maltby Intermediate School in Brighton, MI since 2010. He is an occasional guest conductor for other marching bands in the Brighton and Howell area.


He is the Director of the Huron Valley Open Winter Guard, which was a semi finalist at WGI World Championships.


Jake Turnbow resides in Brighton, MI with his wife Christine, daughter Emma, and dog Maynard.
